On Thursday, April 25, 2024, the County of Los Angeles Fire Department (LACoFD) hosted its annual Valor and Exemplary Service Awards Ceremony at the Pasadena Convention Center in the City of Pasadena.

The Valor and Exemplary Service Awards Ceremony honors outstanding LACoFD sworn and professional personnel, public safety partners, and Good Samaritans who have demonstrated exceptional acts of heroism, bravery, quick thinking, and unwavering dedication that exemplify the core values of the Department.

Over 175 guests attended this year’s ceremony and experienced the presentation of various distinguished awards that included the renowned Medal of Valor, Unit Citation, Emergency Medical Services, Exemplary Service, Special Recognition, and the Fire Chief’s Helmet Awards.

Welcoming remarks were made by LACoFD Fire Chief Anthony C. Marrone, while the program was emceed by ABC7 News Anchor Marc Brown, who shared incredible stories of heroism, bravery, and commitment.

This year’s Medal of Valor Awards, the most prestigious recognition of the evening, were awarded to Fire Captain Ryan Kirwan, Fire Fighter Specialist Craig Ross, and Fire Fighter Timothy Ecker for their selfless bravery, heroism, and extraordinary courage in going above and beyond the call of duty.

The LACoFD extends its deepest gratitude and appreciation to the program sponsors, the F&A Federal Credit Union, the County of Los Angeles Association of Chiefs, and the International Association of Firefighters Local 1014, for their continued support and contributions toward the success of this annual event.
